Powers and Abilities

The various experiments that were conducted on Poison Ivy resulted in a large dose of animal and plant toxins in her bloodstream which managed to boost her immunity against all types of bacteria, poisons, viruses and fungi. Some comic series have even depicted her as being more plant rather than human, requiring sunlight as a means for surviving and also breathing in CO2.
Poison Ivy is able to use pheromones to seduce women as well as men. She also has the ability of controlling the various powers of Superman by using kryptonite along with her powers.
Poison Ivy is able to create various dangerous mixtures of poisons that she tries to use to gain control of Gotham City. Many a times, these dangerous toxins come from her lips through a kiss. These toxins have different strengths resulting from smaller mind-controlling drugs to even more fatal toxins.
In some stories, she also has the ability of controlling plants by simply using her mind. For instance, while in Arkham, she manipulates and uses various plants, using their roots as support for the tunnel which she and another inmate named Magpie are trying to use to escape. At times, she also initiates some glowing fungi to keep Magpie entertained.
The Swamp Thing refers to Poison Ivy, who he calls the ‘May Queen’, as a mystical component, although writers have not used this nickname for a long time.
In Batman: the Animated Series, the only physical power that Poison Ivy has is an immunity to poison. When she has to give someone a fatal kiss, she makes use of a lipstick which has been poised by various toxins which have been extracted from a plant. Poison Ivy also admits that she is unable to have children because of a “hyperactive immune system”.
